A beautiful guide to one of the most incredible buildings in the world.

The Sagrada Familia Audio Guide is available in 19 languages and will enhance your visit to this iconic location

Audio quality 9/10.

Some might find the female voice in the English version a little sing songy but I found it combined with the violin heavy score to be moving and informative.

Annoying that some tracks are less than 1 minute in length and no auto play function.

Audio content 9/10

The script is really clever because it physically moves you through the space, directs your view asks for your opinion all while contextualizing the architecture both historically and artistically.

Full of Easter Eggs and detail that you’d never spot without it. Listen out for magic squares, the difference between a tortoise and a turtle and Gaudi’s face hidden in the figures.

Ease of use 6/10

As long as you download the app and then the guide before you visit you won’t have problems. This would have been higher if there was a way to access the audio without a ticket. If like me you wanted to hear it again without paying for a second ticket you might find a way to do so by purchasing a free ticket for concessions 😉

Also I found the buttons moving between the tracks a little clumsy to scroll through.

Worth a download? Turn up!  24/30

This audio guide is beautifully produced and is a fitting guide to this incredible place.

Top Tips: Make sure you book your ticket to the stunning Sagrada Familia in good time through the official website side stepping the need for touts and too much queuing!

Download the app and put in your confirmation number to access the audio guide. Download the guide before you visit to avoid flapping your phone around on the streets of Barcelona that sadly have a well-earned reputation for pick-pockets and theft.

The guide I listened too had a new augmented reality feature. I didn’t get to use this when I visited in Summer 2024 but I am excited to try this when I visit next. If you’ve been to the Sagrada Familia and used the augmented reality element let me know in the comments.
